Sea World with Grandma

One day while my Mom was here visiting we went down to Sea World for the day. The girls were so good and we had a lot of fun. Rylie liked watching the dolphins & killer whales, Brooklyn's favorite part was "dancing" to the Madagascar show. We really enjoy our time with Grandma when she comes to visit.

Build-A-Bear

When my mom was here we took Rylie & Brooklyn to Build-A-Bear for the first time. Rylie was so excited to build her "My Little Pony". Brooklyn got a cute teddy bear. We had such a fun time...

We have a swimmer!

We've been going to the pool 3 days a week this summer. Rylie has come so far, we are very proud of her! My Mom came to visit for 2 weeks and helped me with Rylie's swimming. Yesterday she just decided she was going to swim to Daddy and there was NO stopping her! She swam for 2 hours!! Here's a short video of her swimming from Daddy to the steps...

Homeschool Preschool

Rylie still has 2 years before she starts kindergarten, we were going to put her in preschool 2 days a week but the school I want her to go to was full (she will be going there next year for pre-K). So I decided to try homeschooling her this year (fingers crossed!), I did teach Pre-K for 3 years but this is going to be a little different. I've kind of converted the playroom into a small classroom (still needs some work) and I collected a lot of resources & materials. Rylie & I are very excited to get started, it'll be interesting with a 10 month old hahaha. My plan is to blog about Rylie's progress each month, so stayed tuned...

Our "classroom". We're still working on it...
Mommy's "teacher" box

I put worksheets in plastic covers so she can use a dry erase maker, and we can reuse them.

Our theme for September is APPLES. We will be going to the library each month to get books about our monthly theme. Rylie really liked going to the library. At the end of September we will be taking a field trip to Oak Glen to go apple picking.

4th Of July

We spent 4th of July over at Kyle's parents house. It was a really nice, mellow day...just the way I like it!
We were surrounded by amazing fireworks!
And it was really nice that Daddy didn't have to work this year, especially since it was Brooklyn's first 4th Of July.
Thanks Grandma & Papa for having us over!

Summer Vacation!

At the end of July we went camping up at Little Grass Valley located in Northern California with some of Kyle's family. Can I just say "I LOVE CAMPING IN OUR NEW TRAILER!". Anyway...As exhausting as it was for me with two little kids we still had a great time. We painted bird houses, made "fairy jars", played in the water, went for walks, and there was lots & lots of dirt! I love that my kids got to spend time with their cousins, these will be life long memories...

Pretend City

At the beginning of July my friend Amy and her kids came to visit from Colorado. We took the girls to Pretend City in Irvine, what a great place for little kids! It's $12 per person (kids under 12 months are free), worth every penny! There is SO much for kids to do, we were there for hours. I highly recommend taking kids 1 1/2 to 5 yrs. Our visit with Amy, Emma & Abby was great, it was so nice to see them & spend time with them. Amy & I even got a chance to go to dinner one night, which was so nice!
