The "no bottle project" COMPLETE

Rylie hasn't had a bottle in almost 2 weeks, she's officially off the "ba ba". I threw them all away the other day. She's done very well. She's been a little fussy because she has 4 molars coming in at the same time. I feel bad that I can't give her a bottle to soothe her, but her binkie is giving her some comfort (along with orajel!). It is nice not having to wash bottles everyday:)

"let me in Mom"

The "no bottle" project

Rylie hasn't had a bottle since Tuesday night. She is doing amazing! Yesterday she cried  before her nap and a little before bed, but today she did great! She fusses a little when she gets tired, I give her a binkie (that's the next thing we're going to get rid of) and rock her to sleep. I really can't use the "cry it out" method because of the passing out issue (plus I don't like to think that my baby cries herself to sleep). I am so proud of my little girl, I thought this was going to be a lot harder!

Waiting for Daddy...

Every morning Rylie & the dogs stand at the door and wait for Daddy to come home from work. They get so excited when they see him :)

Valentine's Day

Kyle & I had plans to go to lunch and a movie on Valentine's Day, Grandma Karen was going to watch Rylie for us. Well, Rylie was having some "pooping" issues (she gets constipated really bad) and I hate leaving her when she's like that, so we decided to stay home. Needless to say she finally went and was exhausted after a very long morning. She ended up falling asleep and Kyle & I ordered lunch in. When she woke up from her nap we went to feed the ducks, it ended up being a nice afternoon.

Baby, it's cold outside!

I love the rain, so you can only imagine how happy I was to see a cold, rainy 7 day forecast. The only thing I don't like about the rain is Rylie loves to go outside and play in the backyard, it's going to be fun trying to keep her inside! There was frost on rooftops & the grass this morning, it's hard to beleive it was 80 degrees a few days ago...

Rylie's 15 month check up

Rylie had her 15 month check up this morning. She weighs 20 pounds 10 ounces. The doctor also told me to take her off the bottle...what? she's only 15 months old! He's worried about her teeth and falling asleep with a bottle. I enjoy having a baby, I don't want to rush her to grow up, I don't believe in taking them off a bottle too soon just to make my life easier. I know I baby her, and I'm probably the reason she's high maintenance hahaha, but I waited a long time to have a baby and it took a lot to get her here. Plus she might be my only one, so I cherish every minute of it. But I guess doctor knows best, so as of today I am taking my baby off the bottle. When we got home from the doctor it was time for a nap so I decided to see how she would do without a bottle (she still takes a bottle a nap times and bedtime). Well it was pretty rough (she cried a lot) and I almost gave in, but she did it! She fell asleep on her own without a bottle-YAY! I know the first week is going to be tough, but I know it's something I have to do :(
I also discussed with the doctor about her holding her breathe and passing out (she's done it 16 times since October), he said it's common and not to worry about it, which is what I read online too. It still freaks me out! We went over things to do when she does it, he said she'll eventually grow out of it.
Other than that he was happy with how she's doing.

Rylie has a new baby cousin!

My cousin Josh & his wife Shawna had their 1st baby this morning! Josh & I were pretty close growing up, he lives in Oregon now so we don't see each other as often as I would like. Hopefully we will get to see them this summer and meet their precious daughter!

Christmas Eve 2010

Okay I totally forgot to post pictures from Christmas Eve, better late than never right?! Nothing like posting Christmas pictures in February hahahaha...
We spent Christmas Eve at my brother John's house in Anaheim, him & my sister-in-law Tracy made a yummy prime rib dinner. We had such a nice, relaxing evening. We even "skyped" with the rest of my family that were up in Washington.

"Thanks John & Tracy, we had a great time!"

Super Bowl @ The Block's

We went over to our friends Kris & Melissa's for a Super Bowl party yesterday. We had a great day...
"Thanks for having us over, we had a great time. You guys are the best!"

OC Zoo

Kyle had last Friday off so we decided to go to the Orange County Zoo at Irvine Park. What a cool little zoo for 2 bucks! They had bears, raccoons, donkeys, a mountain lion, a bob cat, coyotes, a petting zoo, bald eagles, ect... Rylie enjoyed running around, it was a nice day to get out of the house.

Stride RIGHT!

Rylie got a pair of Stride Rite shoes for Christmas from her Auntie Maggie. I use to think these were an over priced novelty, boy was I WRONG! These are the best shoes for "new walkers", worth every penny! Rylie has had these shoes on all day, every day since she got them. She loves them (they must be comfortable), she walks better in them than any other shoe. They will even measure your child's feet to make sure you're getting the proper size & shoe. I would highly recommend Stride Rite shoes for any "new walker". Plus they have tons of styles to choose from, these are the ones Rylie got...

outside fun!

I am so excited for this spring/summer, we have so much fun stuff to do outside. Rylie got a new sandbox, her cousins gave her their old playhouse, she has a swing, a ball pit & her car to play with out back. Our house/yard is really becoming "kid friendly" hahaha. Rylie loves to be outside, so having stuff for her to do our there is going to be really nice.
Rylie's cousins gave her their playhouse, isn't it cute?! It's called The Storybook Cottage.

I LOVE this picture! Can we say NOSEY, she's looking at the dog next door :)

Rylie's new playroom

We have this room off our kitchen that we never really knew what to do with (I think it's suppose to be a den, but we use the "formal" living room as our den/tv room). Anyway... we've been meaning to make it into a playroom for Rylie for the last couple of months, well we finally got it done! We eventually want to put a TV & CD player in there so she can watch her DVD's & listen to her music, but here's what we've got so far...
