our walk today...

For the most part I like living in Corona/Riverside. But one of my biggest pet peeves is that there are no nice, big parks to go for walks. I grew up living in Orange County and they have so many big parks with lakes & ponds, one of my favorite parks in the OC is Yorba Regional Park in Yorba Linda. So this morning I packed up Rylie and we drove into Orange County and went for a walk. I've been trying to lose the rest of my "baby weight" so I've been taking Rylie on lots of walks (I've also been watching what I eat & running on my treadmill once I put her to sleep at night). Today we walked for an hour and 15 minutes, it was a perfect day for a walk at the park! We saw ducks, lizards, squirrels, a frog, a crane, bunnies, little fish, a lots of dogs. It's a beautiful park, and well worth the drive!

can you see the squirrel?

new patio furniture

We finally found patio furniture. It's nothing "fancy" but we like it! The backyard is almost done, Kyle took out 2 side planters and laid sod last week. We would eventually like to lay cement down both sides of the house and put in a new planter a long the back wall. All in all the backyard looks 10 times better and we enjoy spending time back there...time for BBQ's!

just some random pictures from the week...

Sitting in her bumbo seat. She wants to sit up by herself so bad.

I love having a GIRL! I'd dress her in dresses & bows everyday if I could.

Rylie & Levi

Rylie loves the animals, but Levi is really the only one that will let her get close. He loves to lay with her when I put out a blanket for tummy time. He's such a good big dog! Diesel & Cooper are getting a little more curious about the baby but still won't get too close.

Last Thursday...

If you live in Southern California you may have heard that Corona had a fire last week. Well, it was the hills across the street from our neighborhood that were on fire (where we go dirt bike riding). It was little crazy around here that day, sirens going off for hours, dogs barking at the sirens, the streets were crowded with "looky lous", and helicopters & airplanes dropping water all day. Luckily it didn't get any homes (got very close though) and no one was hurt.

more 6 month pictures...

This was by far Rylie's favorite "photo shoot", she loves taking baths so this was right up her ally! I took soooo many pictures and every one turned out cute!! Here are just a few of my favorites...

This is by far my favorite picture!

I love how you can see her little foot peeking over the side. She looks like she's kickin' back takin' a bath.

getting the backyard ready for summer

We're going to be spending a lot of time in the backyard this summer so I wanted to make it a little more "attractive". We're still not done yet, but here's a sneak peek of what we've done so far...
We spent 2 days looking for patio furniture and still haven't found anything we like so we're using our old stuff for now.

My Aunt Maggie & Uncle Sergio got me that gorgeous palm in the big red pot for Mother's Day (I love it, and red's my favorite color!). We put up a swing for Rylie, hung a couple of plants, put up a hummingbird feeder, and just cleaned up the yard a little. I love it back there, it's so relaxing!

6 month pictures...

Here are some of Rylie's 6 month pictures. I took these so they aren't "photographer quality". There's more to come...

6 months...

Our little girl turned 6 months old yesterday! She had a doctor's appointment this morning for her 6 month check up & immunizations. She weighs 13 pounds 8 ounces and is 25 inches long. She is in the 10th percentile of FULL TERM babies now, which is really good considering she was only 4 pounds when she was born. The doctor was very happy with how well she is doing.

*Rylie can roll over and scoot all over the place on her tummy
*She eats stage 2 baby food twice a day
*5 1/2 ounces of formula every 3 to 4 hours
*still in size 1 diapers
*size 3-6 months in clothes
*she wants/tries to sit up on her own but isn't quite there yet
*sucks on her fingers constantly, we're thinking teeth are on their way!
*babbles all the time!!
*she stands with help
*reaches for her toys, and can hold some of them
* she sleeps in her crib in her own room! (she sleeps pretty good, 8-12hrs. a night)
*she babbles all the time, and says "Mmmm" when she eats
*she's discovered that she can squeal/yell and thinks it's funny to do it all the time
She amazes me everyday!!!

Rylie is growing up so fast, I am so blessed that I get to stay home with her and not have to miss a thing!

Rylie's new toy

So the package says 9 months and up & Rylie's not even 6 months old yet hahahaha. She loves to be outside, and she loves her swing inside, so we thought we'd get her an outside swing. She is a little too small for it but I stick a blanket in it and we make it work. She really likes it. (Don't mind the table & chairs in the background, we're still trying to clean up the backyard from the house being painted)

I love the expression on her face hahaha too cute!

An early Mother's Day

We did Mother's Day on Saturday because Kyle had to work all weekend, plus it was nice to go out to eat without all the crowds. We had a wonderful lunch at Lucille's (yum-yum!), then we went over to Kyle's sister house for a little while and watched the kids play on the slip and slide. Kyle & Rylie sent me to get a pedicure, which I thoroughly enjoyed. They also got me a beautiful card. I am so blessed to be Rylie's Mommy, and greatful that I have such wonderful Mom!!!

Mommy givin' Rylie kisses!

Happy Mother's Day, hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Our house...

Last month we had all new windows put in house, then while Rylie & I were in Washington we had the exterior painted. It turned out so good, it's like a whole new house! Here's a before & after picture...

Rylie's rolling over...

Before I share the pictures of Rylie rolling over I have to share these! As soon as I laid out the blanket Levi & Cooper had to come and investigate, Levi thinks the blanket is for him to lay on. Diesel still keeps his distance and doesn't really want anything to do with Rylie. Rylie loves the animals so she was so excited when Levi & Cooper came to lay with her.

While we were in Washington Rylie learned how to roll over. She even uses her feet to scoot around the floor (she'll be crawling before we know it!)

Here's her starting to roll...

...this is her rolling onto her stomach,
she gets frustrated because her arm always gets stuck hahaha

here she is when she figures out how to get her arm out from under her body. All that work and then she gets mad because she hates being on her tummy lol
she can roll over and over and over, it's pretty funny to watch.

We're Baaaack!!!

Rylie & I got home from Washington yesterday, we had a great time. Rylie did amazing on the airplane. Grandma & Grandpa just loved her to pieces! She also got to meet lots of cousins, Great Uncles, her Uncle Brian & her Auntie Tina. Grandma & Grandpa took her around town and showed her off, everyone just loved her. She was such a good girl, I was so proud of her. It was hard to leave, but we were glad to get home to Daddy.
