tooth # 2

Rylie has another tooth! We could see it through her gums for about two days, and finally it broke through. Now she has her two bottom teeth!!!

OC Fair

Kyle & I took Rylie to the Orange County Fair yesterday. It was a really nice day, the weather was perfect! Rylie was an angel, she stayed awake the whole day! Mommy & Daddy ate way too much, gotta love "fair food!"

"Happy Birthday To Me!"

I celebrated my 32nd birthday on July 21st. It was my 1st birthday being a Mom so I wanted to spend the day with my girl!
Kyle, Rylie & I met Kyle's sister, his Mom, his niece & his nephew at Bubba Gumps for lunch. Then the three of us headed to The Long Beach Aquarium to spend the day together. After the aquarium we walked around Shore Line Village. We had a really nice day.

We went down to the beach the other day and my friend Sariah took some pictures for us. There were so many to choose from, these are some of my favorites...

Rylie's 1st tooth!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rylie cut her first tooth this morning! We knew it was coming because when we were on vacation she started drooling a lot, her gums were warm, she got kinda fussy & her cheeks got a little pink. I had been putting baby orajel on her gums and giving her Tylenol when she needed it, this morning she was pretty miserable. After trying everything to calm her down I put my finger in her mouth and sure enough I could feel the little tooth poking through.

Fred is dead

Our little beta fish died today. I rescued him 2 1/2 years ago from a friend's wedding (he was one of the centerpieces), they were just going to flush him so I took him home. His fishbowl has sat on my kitchen counter ever since. Who knew you could get so attached to a silly little fish.

Yesterday we went over to Kyle's sister's house to hang out. I just had to share this picture of Kyle, Jenna & Rylie in the little pool...too cute!

A Surprise / Last Minute Trip!

Towards the end of June Kyle came home from work after having a rough shift and said "I requested time off, let's go up to your parents house". So within three days we got everything packed and found someone to look after the cat & fish and we headed for Washington. We didn't tell anyone we were coming so you could only imagine how surprised my parents were when we pulled into their driveway on a Sunday evening after driving for 2 days. They were soooo excited to see us! We stayed up there for a week and a half. My brother and his family came up (they live in Oregon) for the 4th of July, we got to surprise them too! We all had a wonderful time. Kyle and I got to go out for a "date night" one night, we went to dinner at this restaurant over looking the harbor, then went to watch the whales. Grandpa even watched Rylie one day so everyone could go to the movies. We went on hikes, saw tons of wildlife, relaxed out on my parents deck, went to the beach/tide pools, had dinner at my Uncle's house, went to the 4th of July parade & fireworks in Friday Harbor, and just had a great time! On the way home we stopped in Oregon to spend the night at my Aunt & Uncle's house, it was the first time my cousins got to see Rylie. We had a nice dinner & got to hang out for a while.

We were gone for 13 days. Rylie did sooo good, I was so happy with how well she did in the car! She was stuck in the car for 2 days on the way up and 2 days on the way home (approx. 9-12 hours a day!). She ate, slept and played in the car. Once we got home we didn't put her back in her car seat for a few days :) We are so lucky to have such a good little girl!

It was Rylie's 1st 4th of July, she liked the fireworks. I have more pictures from the parade that I will post once I get them from my Mom...

8 months old already!?!?

Boy time flies when your having fun! And we sure are having fun watching Rylie grow up. Our baby girl is 8 months old! She weighs 15 1/2 pounds, she's 27 inches long, she's finally in size 2 diapers, she wears 6 months in clothes, and guess what? she's sitting up all by herself!!!! She still hasn't fully mastered the art of crawling but that doesn't stop her from moving around everywhere (she rolls & scoots all over the place). She babbles all the time, it's so cute! She loves playing with all of her toys, and bouncing in her jumperoo. Here are just a few pictures I took the other day. We aren't getting her 8 month/family pictures taken until the 20th so hopefully I'll have them up by the end of next week....
